Registration & Training:
(1 hour before start time)
New players to the Mahjong Australia Tournament are required to complete membership forms and provide identification to play in the event. Each player will receive a unique membership card that is scanned at each event; this will track accumulated score for the current season. Training will be provided an hour prior to the event start time to all players new to mahjong and for season players to learn the Points System.
Events:
Play starts with 4 players per table. There are two 70-minute sessions with 8 hands played in each session. After the first 70-minutes points are tallied, we allow for a 20-minute break after which time players will be reseated and the second session will resume for a further 70 minutes.
Event prizes will be distributed to the winners after two sessions and seasons points awarded according to the ranks achieved by players.
Season points will determine the players that will participate in the Grand Final where the winner will be announced as an Australian representative in up coming US $1Million World Series of Mahjong Tournament. The Australian Mahjong season operates over 13 weeks and the 3rd season commenced on 13th October 2008. |
